Role Summary

Ex-Vivo Clinical Specialist II to perform ex-vivo lung perfusion (EVLP) procedures to evaluate and optimize donor lungs for transplant, working with transplant centers and organ procurement organizations to ensure regulatory compliance and logistics. Located in Jacksonville, FL with relocation assistance available.

Responsibilities

  • Perform EVLP procedures to evaluate and optimize donor lungs for transplant.
  • Collaborate with transplant centers and organ procurement organizations.
  • Provide hands-on assessments and detailed data on lung condition to inform suitability for transplantation.
  • Assist with logistics and regulatory compliance related to EVLP and transplantation processes.

Qualifications

  • Minimum: Associates Degree in a related field, or commensurate experience; 4+ years as a Procurement Transplant Coordinator with critical care experience (or 2+ years with a Bachelor's Degree).
  • 2+ years of experience in sterile technique.
  • 2+ years of experience in direct participation in surgical procedures.
  • 2+ years of experience in critical care including ventilator management and blood gas interpretation.
  • Ability to train onsite in Jacksonville, FL; Silver Spring, Maryland on hire.
  • Successful completion of qualification requirements after initial training.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of lung physiology and mechanics; data collection and analysis skills.
  • Proficiency with Apple and PC; Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Competence in sterile technique and basic surgical skills, including suturing and tying.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, or commensurate experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in advanced practice organ procurement/transplant.
  • CPTC - Certified Procurement Transplant Coordinator.

Education

  • Associates Degree (required) or Bachelor’s Degree (preferred) in a related field.

Skills

  • EVLP procedures and lung evaluation techniques.
  • Clinical data collection and analysis.
  • Sterile technique and surgical aids (suturing, tying).
  • Regulatory compliance and logistics coordination.
