Environmental, Health & Safety Co-op (Spring 2026)

Role Summary

Environmental, Health & Safety Co-op for Spring semester. The role involves interacting with laboratory, manufacturing and facilities personnel to learn about chemical use, process safety and EHS program management in the pharmaceutical life sciences. The position provides hands-on learning opportunities in EHS activities within the Biotechnology industry and exposure to oligonucleotide processing and GMP manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide general support to the EHS team and assist in execution of key projects.
• Learn to identify, evaluate, and control environmental and physical hazards in the workplace and manage environmental aspects.
• Anticipate potential risks, recognize them, assess severity, and implement controls.
• Learn about oligonucleotide processing and support manufacturing process systems in GMP and high-throughput laboratory settings.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an EHS-related bachelor‚Äôs or master‚Äôs degree program at an accredited college/university (e.g., Environmental Engineering, Public Health, Occupational Health and Safety, or related science disciplines).
• GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred.
• Strong Windows OS proficiency.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Well-organized with the ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to manage responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to take direction to resolve incidents quickly and effectively.
• Ability to complete routine tasks independently over time, developing functional, technical, and problem-solving skills.
