Role Summary

Environment, Health, Safety and Sustainability - Grad Go-Op, a 6-month graduate co-op based in Thousand Oaks, CA, January–December 2026. You will support EHSS compliance programs and assist with hazard assessment and ergonomics activities as part of Amgen's EHSS team.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the continuous improvement of EHSS compliance programs (e.g., Biosafety, Environmental Compliance, Ergonomics, Hearing Conservation, Industrial Safety, Radiation Safety and Respiratory Protection).
  • Assist in the assessment of physical and chemical hazards and implementation of control strategies.
  • Assist with providing support for the Ergonomics program including performing ergonomic assessments.
  • Perform audits and inspections (e.g., regulated waste, compliance inspections).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Required: 18 years or older.
  • Required: Graduated with a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Required: Currently enrolled in an MBA program for an MBA internship OR a Master’s program for a Master’s internship OR a PharmD program for a PharmD internship OR Ph.D. for a PhD internship from an accredited college or university and completion of the first year of MBA OR Master’s OR Pharm D OR Ph.D. program before the internship starts.
  • Required: Enrolled in an accredited college or university following the potential internship or co-op assignment.
  • Required: Must not be employed at the time the Co-op starts.
  • Required: Student must be located in the United States for the duration of the Co-op.
  • Preferred: Degree concentrations in Environmental and Occupational Health, Environmental Sciences or Industrial Hygiene.
  • Preferred: Experience with industrial hygiene instrumentation.
  • Preferred: Applied knowledge of Cal/OSHA, OSHA and EPA regulations.
  • Preferred: Working knowledge of industrial hygiene principles and practices.
  • Preferred: Strong written, verbal and organizational skills.
  • Preferred: Ability to prioritize effectively in a rapidly evolving environment.
