Role Summary

Environment Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to join our team, focused on leading deployment of EHS systems, ensuring safe, healthy, and sustainable operations. Collaborate with site heads, operations teams, contractors, external stakeholders, and regulators; travel quarterly to specified sites.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy and maintain EHS reporting systems and metrics, including managing incident investigation processes, corrective actions, and sharing of lessons learned.
  • Provide expert guidance on EHS Management Systems and ensure local deployment.
  • Oversee EHS programs such as chemical safety, contractor management, emergency preparedness and response, and environmental protection.
  • Conduct job hazard analyses and risk assessments for work processes, new equipment, and products.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support industrial hygiene and occupational health surveillance programs.
  • Engage with local, state, and federal regulators, including the local fire department, to ensure compliance with applicable U.S. legislation and site-specific permits.
  • Lead assurance activities including audits and inspections to verify adherence to EHS standards.
  • Advise accountable stakeholders on EHS standards and ensure meaningful metrics are in place to support decision-making.
  • Organize Safety Committees to promote employee involvement and continuous improvement.
  • Lead the local EHS Governance meetings with site-heads to review performance, address concerns, and align on priorities.
  • Travel quarterly to Framingham, MA and Branford, CT sites.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with formal EHS training (Associate Safety Professional (ASP) minimum).
  • 5 years of EHS experience ideally in pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences industries.
  • Demonstrated experience in lab safety, biosafety, emergency response, hazardous waste, and hazardous materials management.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of EHS laws and regulations affecting organizational operations.
  • Experience conducting incident investigations and engaging with regulatory agencies.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree (EHS-focused) or equivalent; ASP certification preferred.

Additional Requirements

  • Travel quarterly to specified sites as part of role responsibilities.
