Role Summary

Enterprise Data Steward, Vendor Master Data. You will be a vital champion for our most critical data assets, ensuring quality, integrity, and usability. You will partner with business stakeholders and IT to implement and uphold data governance policies and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Own the Customer and Price data domains as the subject matter expert; define and document critical data elements, business rules, and standards in the enterprise data catalog with business and technical partners.
  • Ensure data quality end-to-end: set quality rules and metrics, proactively monitor, lead root-cause analysis, and drive timely issue resolution with data producers and consumers.
  • Govern access and lifecycle: manage review/approval processes for data access, and oversee creation, usage, archival, and disposal in compliance with retention, regulatory, and security policies.
  • Champion data literacy and governance: promote proper data use across the enterprise and represent the domain in the Data Council/Data Governance Committee to align decisions and priorities.
  • Advance architecture and measure impact: translate business needs into data models/integrations, identify innovation opportunities, track KPIs with business/IT, and recommend best-practice and emerging tech improvements.

Qualifications

  • Required: 8+ years of strong foundational knowledge of data governance principles, including data quality, metadata management, and data stewardship. Deep knowledge and experience in a relevant business function (e.g., R&D, Manufacturing, Commercial, Finance, Supply Chain, etc.).
  • Required: Education—Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data, Process, or a related field.
  • Required: Data Tools Familiarity—experience with data cataloguing tools (e.g., Collibra) and data quality management software.
  • Preferred: Analytical Mindset—excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate complex data issues and identify root causes.
  • Preferred: Communication and Influence—exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and influence stakeholders across different business and technical teams.
  • Preferred: Attention to Detail—a highly organized and meticulous approach to managing data definitions, standards, and quality.
  • Preferred: Process-Oriented—experience in process improvement and a demonstrated ability to think systematically about how data flows through the organization.
  • Preferred: Data-Driven Attitude—a passion for data and a firm belief in its power to drive business outcomes; foundational understanding of data architecture principles (data modeling, integration patterns, data platform concepts) and ability to articulate how they support business strategy.
  • Preferred: Demonstrated Skill in Issue Resolution and Escalation—facilitate resolution of data discrepancies, conflicts, and issues, escalating complex problems to appropriate data governance bodies or IT teams when necessary.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data, Process, or a related field
