Engineering Technician, Research & Development Process & Product Design

Role: Engineering Technician within Alcon's R&D Process & Product Design team, supporting the development of medical device products related to eye care. Responsibilities include performing tests, documentation, troubleshooting, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting product evaluations and validation activities. The role involves hands-on work with hardware and software, including fluidics, mechanics, optics, electronics, and lasers, contributing to product testing and materials analysis. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (8+ years in related fields or high school +8 yrs/Assoc. +4 yrs); fluent in English; prior engineering technician experience, especially in testing, fixture development, and product assembly/rework, ideally for medical devices. Preferred skills include writing/executing protocols, working with electro-mechanical or opto-mechanical devices, and pre-clinical/wet lab sample prep. The position is onsite at Lake Forest, CA, with an emphasis on cross-disciplinary collaboration.
