Role Summary
The Engineering Technician supports the day-to-day operation of the ETC (Engineering Technology Center) Process Engineering Laboratory (PEL), ensuring compliance with Lilly policies and coordinating with supported and supporting agencies. The role provides input and feedback on laboratory operations and helps maintain safety, quality, and efficiency in the lab environment.
Responsibilities
- Plan and manage workload to meet customer requirements for the ETC PEL by running daily laboratory experiments across networks including LRL, Large Molecule, Small Molecule, Peptides/Oligos/Insulin, Dry Product, Parenteral, and CMOs.
- Apply good laboratory practices and expertise in running design of experiments and assembling lab models of manufacturing process technologies and unit operations using Lilly procedures, protocols, and methods.
- Provide support and leadership on lab safety, operation of laboratory equipment, housekeeping, and maintenance of facilities.
- Ensure lab compliance with Lilly policies.
- Document laboratory experiments and data thoroughly and compliantly in lab notebooks.
- Assist engineers and subject matter experts in preparing and reviewing technical reports and supporting documentation.
- Develop interactions and partnerships within PEL and with other laboratories, analytical groups, and support teams to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications
- Three or more years of experience in manufacturing, or in a laboratory or pilot plant setting.
- Experience with processing and/or analytical instruments and equipment is preferred.
