The Reliability Engineer drives continuous equipment reliability improvements by providing and coordinating technical support and managing reliability improvement processes to reduce business risk. The role leads key equipment assets to ensure reliability is maintained at the highest levels, drives reliability of work processes/procedures/operating practices, and defines, designs, develops, and monitors the site’s critical asset register for proper operation and care of production, utility, and supporting assets. Manages the Reliability Engineering Plan, Maintenance Excellence Program (MEP), and asset reliability metrics.
Responsibilities:
- Support the site’s Maintenance Excellence Program (MEP) with weekly/monthly reports and targeting critical assets for optimization and continuous improvement.
- Ensure reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, controls, and safety systems.
- Develop solutions to repetitive failures to prevent/reduce failure frequency.
- Analyze failure history to determine reliability characteristics and develop long-term solutions for recurring issues.
- Develop/enforce Asset Operations Plan Priorities and an Asset Maintenance Plan for effective sustaining maintenance.
- Adhere to Life Cycle Asset Management (LCAM); perform RCFA using failure data techniques; analyze asset/production performance (utilization, OEE, MTBF, remaining useful life).
- Create asset management plan with value-added preventative maintenance; determine effective use of predictive and non-destructive testing.
- Partner with Project Engineering to review maintenance/installation plans and provide reliability/maintainability specifications.
- Define risk management approach for reliability and non-reliability risks impacting operations.
- Comply with OSHA, FDA, EPA, etc.
Qualifications:
- BS in Engineering.
- Experience: 2 years Maintenance (or similar) OR 2 years Reliability Engineering (or similar) (combined minimum 2 years).
- Skills/Knowledge: basic technical skills with equipment; healthcare/pharmaceutical and/or utilities processes; strong interpersonal and communication skills.
