Role Summary

Engineer - Project Manager - Capital Projects-2. Lead and manage manufacturing capital projects through conceptual design to operational verification, ensuring safety, asset capability or capacity, budget, schedule, and compliance. Collaborate with Lilly and non-Lilly professionals to deliver capital assets that support medical innovation and supply chain robustness.

Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Lead and manage manufacturing capital projects consisting of both Lilly and Non-Lilly professionals to safely achieve project objectives from conceptual design through operational verification. Project objectives are defined as: safety, asset capability or capacity, budget, schedule, and compliance.
  • Compliance: Lead with a disciplined, structured approach to project management based on compliance with Company Policies and Procedures.
  • Safety/Environment: Develop and maintain safety and environmental execution plans for projects. Ensure compliance to safety and environmental policies, procedures, and work rules for project personnel, contractors, and subcontractors from conceptual design through operational verification.
  • Interface/Communication: Develop and maintain effective communication with project team, governance teams, business partners and other stakeholders as the size of the project may dictate.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor of Science – Engineering or field related to project management, or equivalent experience.
  • Required: 5+ Years previous experience in capital project delivery in manufacturing facilities
  • Required: Project Size: Previous experience on projects or multiple projects > $5MM
  • Preferred: Capital Project Management Experience in Pharma manufacturing facilities, such as Bulk API, sterile products, secondary packaging, Devices and to a lesser extent lab projects
  • Preferred: Experience in many of the following areas: Automation, construction, construction quality, project controls, the engineering disciplines, safety, scheduling
  • Preferred: The capacity to achieve results through people is critical
  • Preferred: Facilitate issue resolution, anticipate scope changes, and implement safely with quality, speed, and value
  • Preferred: Willingness to relocate and/or travel to locations outside of home state/country and have the demonstrated ability to work from long distances with little supervision
  • Preferred: Must exhibit a good sense of judgment in decision making, without the need for management approval while at the same time keeping management informed and engaged on critical issues
  • Preferred: Effective communication skills both written and verbal
  • Preferred: Ability to influence personnel and organizations without having direct administrative responsibility for them
  • Preferred: Competency in a foreign language(s)
  • Preferred: Professional Engineer or equivalent technical certification
  • Preferred: Experience in working and/or living outside the U.S
  • Preferred: Demonstrated willingness to embrace the concept of continuous improvement and be an agent for change
