Responsibilities:
- Lead identification of applicable Engineering Design Standards, Engineering Functional Standards, Engineering Specifications, and regulatory requirements/guidance.
- Own overall design delivery for capital project(s); coordinate all design with the Project Manager through design phases (including conceptual and basic design reviews).
- Direct development of design requirements; assist with design schedule; participate in selection of A/E firms.
- Coordinate with A/E firms to develop earned value progress systems; expedite design decisions and manage information flow.
- Ensure design meets approved intent; govern design activities; resolve design-related problems.
- Identify design inefficiencies and develop improvement strategies to meet/improve on design hours plan.
- Assist development/maintenance of SOPs, work instructions, and/or best practices related to design/verification.
- Review/approve key design personnel; work with Engineering Tech Center and technical/constructability resources to resolve design issues.
- Ensure design replication where applicable; support value engineering efforts.
- Review design-related invoices; participate in KPI reviews/assessments.
- Participate in selection of verification professional services; develop Project Verification Plan, Traceability Matrix, and risk assessments (not execution).
Basic Requirements:
- BS in Engineering (Chemical or Mechanical preferred).
- Minimum 5 years manufacturing and/or engineering experience supporting pharmaceutical or API networks.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. full-time; Lilly does not sponsor visas/work authorization.
Additional Preferences:
- Pharmaceutical process/project engineer experience; strong project management.
- Conflict resolution/facilitation; ability to influence all levels.
- Capital project delivery and A/E design process understanding.
- Relocation and/or travel; work remotely with little supervision.
Additional Information:
- Travel ~25% average; potential temporary co-location at A/E firm or job site for C&Q support.
Benefits/Compensation:
- Anticipated wage: $66,000 - $171,600; bonus eligibility; comprehensive benefits (401(k), medical/dental/vision, life insurance, time off, well-being benefits).
