Organization Overview
The Engineer – Process is responsible for establishing and maintaining the reliable operation and qualified state of the equipment and business processes in the area they support. Serves as an equipment/automation subject matter expert to meet defined safety, quality, and productivity goals, ensuring systems are in-control, compliant, and capable while delivering projects tied to regulatory compliance, commercialization, capacity, and continuous improvement.
Core Responsibilities
- Ensure a safe working environment and help improve safety culture.
- Participate in safety activities (audits, JSAs, hazard reviews) to drive improvements.
- Ensure safe design and safe operation of equipment within the area.
- Ensure systems/solutions are in-control, capable, and compliant.
- Demonstrate technical expertise (equipment/process flow, critical process parameters, SOPs).
- Lead troubleshooting and resolve difficult equipment/operational issues.
- Use formal problem-solving (including Root Cause Analysis) and communicate results.
- Engage OEMs and service vendors to build knowledge and deliver projects/troubleshooting.
- Communicate effectively with project, process, operations, maintenance, and crafts teams.
- Perform impact assessments for changes to responsible equipment/systems.
- Establish/monitor control systems and trend data to verify/optimize performance.
- Identify and drive equipment-related process improvements.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preference Mechanical or Electrical).
- 1+ years engineering experience in a GMP or highly regulated environment.
- Authorized to work in the United States full-time; Lilly will not sponsor visas.
Additional Skills/Preferences
- Pharmaceutical manufacturing experience (parenteral and/or packaging).
- Commissioning & Qualification, asset delivery, validation, and cGMP regulations.
- Strong communication (oral, written, visual) and cross-functional collaboration.

- 8-hour day shift; possible extended hours/off-hour support; occasional travel.
