Role: Engineer II supporting pilot-scale nucleic acid and formulated nucleic acid operations within Moderna's biopharma platform, focusing on process transfer, optimization, and production. Responsibilities: independently execute technical projects related to DNA/RNA/LNP/DP processes, support technology transfer, troubleshoot process issues, and generate data for developmental and toxicology studies; author SOPs and protocols; lead or assist in batch operations while ensuring compliance with GMP and safety standards; collaborate cross-functionally with Process Development, Analytical, and other teams to enhance process robustness and efficiency; identify and address technical challenges proactively. Qualifications: Bachelorโs or Masterโs in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering, or related field; 2+ years (Bachelorโs) or 2-3 years (Masterโs) of relevant experience in process development or manufacturing, with hands-on experience in biologics or nucleic acid processes; strong problem-solving and communication skills; familiarity with process transfer, scale-up, and operational troubleshooting. Preferred: advanced degree, experience with mRNA/DNA synthesis, LNP formulation, process analytics, and operational excellence principles.
