What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead the engineering and operations of design, build, and maintain scalable HPC platforms.
- Enable Lilly’s HPC infrastructure and experiences.
- Collaborate with researchers and scientists to optimize performance and streamline workflows.
- Leverage tooling and automation for orchestration, resource scheduling, data access, and reproducibility.
- Evolve and operate public cloud and on-premises environments with a focus on availability and performance for HPC workloads.
- Define and monitor infrastructure metrics and resource utilization.

What You Should Bring
- Hands-on experience in HPC platforms: accelerators (e.g., GPU), HPC schedulers (e.g., Altair Grid Engine, Slurm), Kubernetes, and containers (Docker, Apptainer).
- Experience with HPC workloads, infrastructure, and cluster architectures.
- Linux command line expertise, troubleshooting, and HPC administration.
- DevOps tools experience (GitHub, Chef, Ansible, Terraform).
- Experience automating infrastructure and applications.
- Passion for continual learning in HPC.
- Strong programming/scripting skills (Python or Bash).

Basic Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related technical field.
- 5+ years’ experience as an HPC Platform Engineer.

Additional Information
- Hybrid role in Indianapolis, IN (relocation required); <5% travel.
- Qualified applicants must be authorized to work in the United States; Lilly will not sponsor work authorization or visas.
