Role: Fellow in Drug Substance Biotherapeutics within Emerging Technologies at Johnson & Johnson, focusing on advanced manufacturing solutions to support process intensification and real-time release. Responsibilities: serve as a technical expert, shape manufacturing strategies, scout and benchmark new biotherapeutic technologies, mentor colleagues, and collaborate with external academic, government, and industry partners. Involves laboratory and pilot-scale development of innovative processes aimed at process reliability, improvements, and control. Qualifications: PhD with 10-12+ years in pharmaceutical manufacturing, particularly in biotherapeutic or parenteral processes; strong record of delivering next-generation manufacturing solutions; expertise in GxP-regulated bioprocessing; excellent scientific communication skills. Preferred: knowledge of Quality by Design, real-time release testing, cGMPs, PAT, continuous manufacturing, modeling (chemometric, mechanistic, AI), and a robust academic and industry network. High-Value: biotherapeutic manufacturing, process development, process intensification, real-time release, advanced biomanufacturing technologies, GxP compliance. Collaboration/reporting: work closely with internal teams and external partners. Location: Spring House, PA, with up to 20% domestic and international travel.
