Role Summary
Lead the environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs for the GSK R&D Cambridge Park Drive site, including research and development laboratories, vaccine research laboratories, and facility operations. This is a site-based role at the Cambridge Park Drive location with five days on-site required.
Responsibilities
- Lead delivery for EHSS R&D programs and services in the Cambridge Park R&D site.
- Act as the Duty Holder for High Severity Risk programs to include Chemical, Biological, Radiation and Environmental.
- Oversees compliance with legal requirements affecting EHS programs.
- Work effectively with the EHS professionals on the Pharma R&D team to deliver efficient and consistent programs to all groups within R&D.
- Provide leadership as an active member of the Cambridge Park Drive site Council and collaborate with the Principal Duty Holder to ensure EHS risk are known, assessed, and well managed.
- Provide day-to-day support as part of a team to deliver first-line advice, training, emergency response, risk assessment, incident investigation, input to local projects and processes to the site.
- Act as the Site Engineering Services business partner to provide support to Capital and Site Minor Works projects, Change Controls, Impact Assessments and EHS Asset reviews.
- To ensure the interests of R&D are represented and protected, both within and external to GSK.
- To maintain comprehensive external and cross-business awareness and lead and participate in significant cross-company initiatives.
- Provide Independent Business Monitoring Program leadership and support to R&D across the region and in conjunction with the broader R&D EHS team.
- Manage regulatory visits both announced and unannounced to the site.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelorβs Degree in Environmental, Health and Safety Management, Chemistry or Biology.
- Required: 10+ years of experience in managing Environmental, Health and Safety Programs.
- Required: Leadership experience to influence senior managers and staff in a demanding and rapidly evolving legislative environment.
- Preferred: CSP
- Preferred: Pharmaceutical Industry experience
- Preferred: Good interpersonal, presentational and persuasive skills to interact with managers at all levels and the ability to manage complex internal relations on a multi-site and international basis.
