About the team You will join the site EHS team supporting operational safety, environmental compliance and health programs across manufacturing and laboratory activities. The team partners closely with site leaders, engineering, operations and regional EHS colleagues to deliver practical risk reduction and continuous improvement. Role purpose Provide on-site EHS leadership to identify hazards, reduce risk and ensure site compliance with Egyptian regulations and GSK standards. Key responsibilities Lead and maintain site health, safety and environmental programs to meet local law and corporate standards. Perform risk assessments, workplace inspections and industrial hygiene monitoring; recommend and track corrective actions. Investigate incidents and near-misses, determine root causes and own timely corrective and preventive actions. Design and deliver clear, practical EHS training and awareness for operators, contractors and site teams. Provide EHS input to capital projects, process changes, commissioning and handover activities. Prepare and maintain regulatory records, internal reports and site EHS performance metrics. Support emergency preparedness, drills and contractor management to maintain safe operations. Required qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering, chemical engineering, environmental science, occupational health, or related field. 3 years’ EHS experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, FMCG, laboratory or regulated industries. Practical experience in risk assessment, incident investigation and corrective action management. Knowledge of Egyptian EHS regulations and international good practice for workplace safety and environmental controls. Strong written and verbal communication in Arabic and English. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience preparing clear reports and presentations. Preferred qualifications Professional certification in occupational health and safety or industrial hygiene (for example NEBOSH, BOHS or equivalent). Experience with chemical safety, industrial hygiene monitoring and respiratory protection programs. Background supporting capital projects or process safety assessments. Experience leading EHS training, drills or emergency response teams. Familiarity with environmental compliance, waste management and sustainability initiatives. Demonstrated ability to influence operational teams and deliver measurable EHS improvements. GSK is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
