Principal Responsibilities:
- Lead cross-functional oncology asset teams; main point of contact/program representative to executive management.
- Negotiate with and influence internal/external stakeholders.
- Drive program strategy and Integrated Development Plans; align with governance and executive management.
- Coordinate strategic/operational efforts across Clinical Research, Clinical Operations, Regulatory, Clinical Pharmacology, Translational/Companion Diagnostics, CMC, Non-Clinical, Medical Affairs, and New Product Planning.
- Partner with Research to advance programs from exploratory research into development.
- Create/evaluate scenario plans based on external landscape and business needs.
- Develop and optimize timelines, financial accountability, and key metrics across multiple projects.
- Partner with Project Management to track progress, costs, resources, timelines; identify risks/issues and optimize performance.
- Lead objective setting, prioritization, performance management, proactive risk/issue/contingency management.
- Build a high-trust team environment with clear communications and consensus.
- Represent programs at governance/decision meetings; support corporate asset objectives (e.g., board/earnings/corporate presentations).
- Lead the External Engagement subteam; supervise/mentor junior staff.
Qualifications:
- Significant drug development leadership experience, including early oncology asset teams and cross-functional team management.
- 15+ years relevant experience in pharmaceutical/academic/medical research.
- Proven ability to lead data-driven strategy planning/implementation.
- Strategic, proactive decision-maker; strong matrix leadership and stakeholder management.
- Experience leading teams effectively/on target; strong interpersonal and cross-functional communication (including presentations).
- Excellent business acumen/judgment; strong mentoring/relationship-building.
- Must be able to work without current/future VISA sponsorship.
Education:
- Ph.D., MD, MBA, or advanced degree in biomedical sciences or related drug development discipline.
