Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight for cross-functional teams defining project objectives for early-stage biologic discovery programs.
- Drive scientific strategy from target validation through Development Candidate Nomination (with preliminary planning for IND-enabling studies).
- Integrate cross-disciplinary data to inform go/no-go decisions and candidate selection.
- Facilitate resource allocation/decision-making across functions with competing priorities and timelines.
- Define and drive project strategy through key milestones; ensure on-time delivery of program milestones.
- Identify, manage, and mitigate key risks across scientific, CMC, and clinical domains.
- Develop and maintain integrated project plans, timelines, budgets, and risk registers; develop early target product profiles (TPPs).
- Lead decision-making, prepare/present program updates to senior leadership and governance committees.
- Collaborate with portfolio management; manage relationships with academic collaborators, CROs, external partners, and internal SMEs.
- Author/review key program documents (TPPs, project charters, stage-gate packages).
Qualifications/Required Skills
- Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Immunology, Protein Sciences, or related field.
- 15+ years pharma/biotech experience; 5+ years in biologics R&D (postdoc considered).
- Hands-on expertise in antibody discovery/engineering, protein expression/purification, bispecific antibody platforms, or related modalities.
- Proven track record leading cross-functional project teams.
- Strong understanding of biologic development (CMC, DMPK, regulatory).
- Ability to adapt to evolving technologies/priorities; strong verbal/written communication.
