Role Summary

Duchenne Nurse Educator (Specialty) responsible for educating healthcare providers, patients, and caregivers on Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) and Sarepta therapies, supporting infusion processes, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure compliant patient support across assigned territories.

Responsibilities

  • Educate providers, infusion nurses, patients, and caregivers on Sarepta’s approved therapies for DMD and the infusion process.
  • Serve as a recognized expert on DMD education (genotype, deletions, disease process, etc.) and stay current on the DMD environment.
  • Collaborate with internal cross-functional partners and external partners to ensure ongoing support to HCPs, patients, and families.
  • Present to audiences compliantly and conduct programs for disease-state awareness.
  • Assist to improve infusion experience for DMD patients by providing ongoing support to infusion nurses and sharing best practices.
  • Coordinate with SareptAssist team and specialty pharmacy to ensure smooth transition from infusion center to home infusion for PMO therapies.
  • Support patients and families as requested by case managers or healthcare providers.
  • Attend advocacy meetings and represent Sarepta at industry conferences.
  • Travel to training meetings, medical offices, and home health agencies as necessary.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
  • Special projects including triage nursing support: provide post-gene-therapy medical guidance during rotating 24-hour on-call shifts; intake and interpret medical information; liaison between patient care teams and an experienced physician; document calls per guidelines; direct teams to appropriate service centers; require on-call coverage for day/night/weekend.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse with a bachelor’s degree (BSN/BS/BA) from an accredited school.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience; infusion, neuromuscular, pediatric neurology, or other specialty experience preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
  • Prefer 2+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry.
  • Strong interest in educating about Duchenne and supporting patients and families.
  • Exceptional presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Team-based collaboration across internal and external partners.
  • Comfort presenting in group and individual settings, live and virtual.
  • Empathetic, friendly, and relatable with effective communication.
  • Comfortable speaking with patients and families; able to work in a demanding environment.
  • Willingness to engage in continuous learning.
  • Valid driver’s license and in good standing.
  • Willingness to rotate on-call coverage (24 hours/7 days per week).
  • Ability to travel up to 60% within the assigned territory by ground and air transportation as required.
