Driver CDL-A

Role: Class A CDL Driver responsible for transporting research products, including animals, across the East Coast territory from Frederick, MD. Objectives include ensuring safe, accurate, and timely deliveries while adhering to animal welfare standards. Responsibilities: operate heavy vehicles (>26,000 lbs GVW), load/unload cargo safely, complete transport documentation, perform vehicle inspections, follow DOT regulations, navigate routes, and provide professional customer service. Additional duties involve handling and transporting animals humanely, including non-human primates, in compliance with safety and welfare standards. Requirements: valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record, minimum 3 years (preferably 5+) of CDL driving experience, prior live animal transport experience advantageous, ability to lift up to 70 lbs, and familiarity with DOT regulations. Preferred skills include strong safety awareness, excellent communication, and reliability. High-value specifics: transporting research animals (including non-human primates), compliance with animal welfare and biosafety standards, and experience in a research support setting. Work setup: full-time, Monday–Friday with 2–3 overnights, rotating routes, and benefits including health coverage, paid time off, and 401(k). May require TB testing or other health screenings.
