Responsibilities:
- Support downstream biotherapeutics process development through hands-on purification and recovery development experiments.
- Execute chromatography, harvest operations, ultrafiltration/diafiltration (UF/DF), and viral clearance experiments (may support bioconjugation).
- Perform process development across micro, bench, and pilot scales for early- and late-stage programs.
- Plan and execute experiments with more senior process engineers.
- Maintain lab equipment and support instrument readiness.
- Record work in electronic laboratory notebooks; maintain clear, complete, timely records.
- Conduct basic data analysis and prepare technical summaries/study updates.
- Follow laboratory/process development procedures, including quality and safety requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows, data capture, and experimental execution.
Qualifications / Required skills:
- Associate degree with 2+ years relevant experience, or bachelorβs with relevant experience, in chemical engineering, chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology, or related field.
- Experience with chromatography, harvest, UF/DF, and viral clearance.
- Experience using electronic laboratory notebooks.
- Ability to perform basic data analysis and communicate results in writing.
- Familiarity with technical writing and lab practices/process development/quality requirements.
Preferred skills:
- Comfort with digital tools and openness to AI-enabled processes for data analysis and documentation.
- Experience with basic bioprocess control systems.
Work environment:
- Controlled environment with protective gowning; may include cold/wet conditions, multiple shifts/weekends, and working around chemicals requiring respiratory protection.
