      Role Summary
Donor Recovery Specialist in Seattle, WA. Represent MIMEDX as an ambassador of the Placenta Donation Program, working independently at partner hospital facilities and maintaining relationships with hospital personnel to support the hospital account.
Responsibilities
  - Account & Relationship Management
- Develop and maintain a positive impression of the Placenta Donation Program and MIMEDX for physicians, nurses, clinical support staff, and hospital leadership
- Identify and address problems/issues with hospital staff, physicians, or nursing leadership
- Liaise with hospital staff and leadership to minimize disruption of unit operations; suggest accommodations while ensuring regulatory compliance
- Train hospital staff and physicians on functions to support the Donation Program, providing in-services as needed
- Donor Interaction & Screening
- Safely acquire all raw materials (birth tissue) for manufacturing
- Educate and recruit/consent donors for participation in the Donation Program
- Evaluate potential donors by reviewing medical and social background and conducting in-person questionnaires; determine safety of donor tissue with regulatory guidance and protect donor information
- Complete and review forms to maintain traceability of donor records
- Tissue Acquisition
- Ensure tissue recovery in an Operating Room environment, handle tissue aseptically, and address observations with surgical staff
- Facilitate collection of donor blood specimens; interface with phlebotomy, pathology, and laboratory departments
- Create sterile field and aseptically add tissue transport solution; maintain traceability of supplies and reagents
- Package donated tissues for transport to the manufacturing facility; ensure timely and compliant tissue arrival
- Maintain adequate supplies and oversee equipment on the hospital unit
Qualifications
  - Must be capable of exercising prudent judgment to screen donors for safety and transplant eligibility
Skills
  - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities with clinical staff and leadership
- Regulatory compliance understanding related to tissue procurement
Education
  - Education or certifications relevant to donor screening, tissue procurement, or medical/clinical support preferred
Additional Requirements
  - Experience in hospital or clinical settings with patient interaction preferred
