Role Summary
Domain Architect to lead architecture and strategy across multiple critical business domains: Human Resources, Legal, Finance, Corporate Communications, and Infrastructure. Align technology solutions with business goals, enable investment decisions, ensure scalable and compliant architectures, and drive innovation across these domains.
Responsibilities
- Strategy & Roadmap: Develop and maintain architectural strategy and artifacts for HR, Legal, Finance, Corporate Communications, and Infrastructure; create a multi-year roadmap; partner with stakeholders to evaluate initiatives and ensure alignment.
- Architecture & Platform Design: Lead design of scalable, modern data architecture; define domain-specific principles, standards, reference architectures, patterns, and roadmaps; ensure secure, well-architected solutions; advise on options, risks, costs, and priorities; assess landscape for rationalization opportunities.
- Innovation & Emerging Technologies: Monitor industry trends; identify opportunities for automation, analytics, AI/ML to improve efficiency, security, and compliance.
- Leadership & Collaboration: Work with stakeholders and IT teams to translate requirements into architectural patterns; facilitate cross-domain collaboration; mentor developers and analysts.
- Governance & Compliance: Lead governance processes to maintain domain architectures; ensure data privacy, compliance, and security globally; promote EA processes and outcomes to leadership.
- Vendor & Stakeholder Management: Manage vendor relationships; ensure delivery of high-quality solutions; work with domain leadership to allocate budget for architectural initiatives.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or related technology field
- Experience: 10+ years in IT and business/industry work experience, including 5+ years in relevant architecture roles with hands-on deployment, lifecycle management, and infrastructure/network planning and operations; ability to lead and collaborate with business and IT stakeholders; strong strategic thinking and communication; experience with cloud infrastructure, virtualization, and modern IT infrastructure; exposure to multiple technologies and processing environments; experience in a global or multi-regional organization in life sciences, healthcare, or animal health sectors
- Desirable Certifications: TOGAF, Azure Certified Solutions Architect or similar, CISSP - Architecture, SAFe for Architects
Skills
- Knowledge of HRIS, ERP, financial management systems, legal case management, IT infrastructure and network platforms
- Familiarity with contract management systems, financial compliance tools, and workforce analytics
- Proficiency with well-architected frameworks
- Active Directory, cloud platforms and PaaS services, especially Microsoft Azure
- Automation, DevOps practices, and infrastructure as code
- Databases, microservices, and SOA architectures; Agile and Scaled Agile practices
- Strong problem solving and independent work capability; excellent verbal and written communication for leadership audiences
- Budgets and project finance understanding; focus on delivering business value
Education
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or related technology field
