Role Summary

The District Manager, Dermatology – Minnesota leads in-field activity to achieve sales targets, optimizing market dynamics and team performance. This role sets the pace for business processes, coaches and develops both direct and indirect team members, and collaborates with internal partners to guide business planning. The position requires field-based leadership within the Minneapolis, MN; Rochester, MN; and Sioux Falls, SD geography, with a focus on dermatology products and related market dynamics.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate in-field activity to achieve results and agreed-upon targets, maximizing market, segment, and team dynamics to drive top- and bottom-line results.
  • Ensure smooth, collaborative efforts in day-to-day and long-term business execution; set tone and pace for business process and organization.
  • Understand and present market and franchise perspectives when leading teams, developing mastery of product, disease state information, and market dynamics including Managed Care landscape.
  • Coach, mentor, educate and develop direct and indirect team members to enhance individual skills and elevate overall team performance; hold direct reports accountable to behaviors and expectations.
  • Provide direction and insights to internal partners in the business planning process; exemplify the AbbVie Ways of Working.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor's degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field, or relevant equivalent industry experience.
  • Required: Business analysis and planning skills that drive sales performance.
  • Required: Proven District Manager leadership, safety/compliance in good standing, minimum four years pharmaceutical sales management experience, current performance; alignment with AbbVie leadership attributes.
  • Required: Excellent judgment and decision-making skills; ability to articulate scientific aspects of treatments and therapeutic areas.
  • Required: Proven ability to deliver candid, effective feedback and manage performance; capability to develop talent for promotional opportunities.
  • Required: Ability to foster a culture of winning and full team engagement.
  • Required: Satisfy all applicable health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements to gain and maintain entry into facilities and organizations in the assigned territory; in good standing or eligible to obtain these credentials.
  • Required: Compliance with HCIR credentialing requirements (background checks, drug screens, immunization proof, fingerprinting, licenses as required by state/city). Responsible for satisfying all HCIR requirements and related liabilities.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field (preferred) or equivalent industry experience.
