Role Summary

The District Business Manager leads a team of motivated sales professionals within the Hematology sales organization, delivering approved disease and product information to key decision makers to help improve patient outcomes. The role requires inspiring and motivating a team to achieve and exceed goals while supporting growth and development.

Responsibilities

  • Leads a team of highly motivated sales professionals by creating and articulating a vision for the district aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Analyzes performance data, market trends, and market access dynamics; builds strategic business plans to address challenges and opportunities.
  • Demonstrates thorough understanding of BMS Hematology products, the Hematology marketplace, competitive products, and disease areas; models and coaches the team accordingly.
  • Facilitates growth and development of team members based on needs, motivation, and business requirements.
  • Creates an environment of continuous learning where team members are challenged and engaged.
  • Leads a group effectively through change while maintaining focus on current and future business needs.
  • Complies with all laws, regulations and policies governing the conduct of BMS.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years of pharmaceutical industry experience, or related industry experience.
  • Prior experience as a District Business Manager in Pharmaceutical Sales or equivalent experience in leading high-performing teams.
  • Hematology experience strongly preferred, including understanding of Hematology reimbursement, access and distribution environment.
  • Proven track record of inspiring and leading teams to meet or exceed expectations and goals.
  • Proven ability to select, develop and retain talented individuals.
  • Experience requiring analytical skills, selling skills, and strong business acumen; working knowledge of the market access environment.
  • Driving requirements: Company-provided vehicle; must meet qualifications of a Qualified Driver (age 21+, valid driver's license, acceptable driving risk level).
