Role Summary

MannKind Corporation is seeking a high performing District Business Manager (DBM) to lead the strategic development and performance management of a region, with responsibilities to overdeliver and exceed sales targets, manage a team of sales representatives, and drive revenue and profit growth. Location: Washington, D.C./Capital Region.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead high performing sales teams and consistently exceed sales goals.
  • Lead a team of Sales Representatives to promote products to targeted physicians and accounts to achieve or surpass sales goals.
  • Provide actionable feedback and field-based coaching to elevate performance.
  • Recruit, develop and retain top talent; direct the Territory Business Manager in strategic acquisition, growth, and retention of targeted business within the geographic area.
  • Develop plans that execute corporate strategy at the district level with measurable KPIs.
  • Work with Leadership to define performance behaviors and measurable actions that drive sales acceleration in the geographic area.
  • Engage with key customers by developing and implementing growth strategies that support product growth.
  • Participate in commercial team planning sessions as requested; act as the voice of field execution and drive aligned business plans; operate within Compliance Guidelines at all times.
  • Follow all Company, Health, Safety and Environmental guidelines.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS with 7-10 years of experience or MS/MBA with 5-7 years related experience, or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of District Management experience in pharmaceutical sales.
  • Track record of consistent quota achievement and territory growth.
  • Analytical mindset with ability to leverage data to optimize sales strategies and team performance; strong business acumen and understanding of customer needs.
  • Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, and presentation capabilities.
  • Experience in developing people; team-oriented with strong leadership capabilities.
