Key Accountabilities
- Own the design, performance, and continuous improvement of an end-to-end product value chain, aligned to enterprise strategy/standards.
- Ensure reliable supply of quality products to patients across clinical and commercial stages.
- Deliver products to markets according to defined service and lead time targets.
- Drive the product lifecycle management roadmap to optimize lead time, cost, and resilience.
- Define and execute product and network strategies, including flow of goods, SKU strategy, and inventory strategy.
- Identify and champion strategic investments to support growth, resilience, and long-term sustainability.
- Proactively identify, assess, and communicate risks impacting product quality, compliance, patient supply, and business continuity.
- Lead mitigation and escalation for actionable supply risks, including patient-level stockout scenarios.
- Own business continuity, supply chain efficiency, and agility plans to meet program objectives.
- Own inventory health, key supply chain cost drivers, and trade-offs between service, cost, and risk.
- Ensure accurate product costing, including development/maintenance of standard costs.
- Enable data-driven, risk-based decision making across the value chain.
- Serve as the primary voice of the product in relevant business forums (brand reviews, regional reviews, portfolio governance).
- Define the target operating model for the product value chain, including roles/processes/decision rights across Planning, Manufacturing, Quality, Logistics, and external partners.
- Build strategic partnerships with Commercial, Clinical, Technical Operations, and Enterprise functions.
Leadership Responsibility
- Matrix-lead cross-functional teams accountable for executing product value chain strategies within their functions.
- Coach and develop team members; monitor performance to deliverables and provide feedback to functional management.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree (BS/BSc) in life sciences, engineering, supply chain, or business administration.
- 8β12+ years in materials management/production planning/scheduling; 5β10+ years in GMP/GCP-compliant pharmaceutical operations; 2β5+ years leading global, cross-functional, matrixed teams.
- Strong supply chain/value chain management expertise.
- ERP expertise (Oracle or SAP preferred).
- Pharmaceutical regulatory frameworks (GMP, ICH), risk and project/program management.
- Demonstrated ability to assess issues across Regulatory, Quality, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing.
- Executive-level communication; influence-based leadership; cross-cultural/global execution; strategic and operational thinking; continuous improvement/process excellence mindset.
- Ability to travel internationally as required.
Preferred Attributes
- MBA (Supply Chain, Finance, or Business Operations).
- APICS (or equivalent) supply chain certification.
- Lean / DMAIC certification (Green Belt or higher).
- PMP (or equivalent) project management certification.
- Biopharmaceutical operations experience.
- Strong financial and business acumen.
- Advanced regulatory/GMP expertise, including ICH Q8βQ12.
