Role Summary

Director, Global Value & Access for HIV Treatment at Gilead. Lead the development and execution of GV&A strategies to optimise access, reimbursement and uptake of Gilead’s HIV treatment portfolio across core markets. Collaborate with Global Strategic Marketing, Global Medical Affairs and regional affiliates to define the global brand strategy, drive market access and pricing input, and ensure successful launches and ongoing access.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of GV&A strategies, launch plans and lifecycle management to optimise access, reimbursement and uptake of Gilead’s HIV Treatment portfolio in core markets (G9: US, EU4, UK, Canada, China & Japan).
  • Partner closely with Global Strategic Marketing (GSM), Global Medical Affairs (GMA) and other functions to help define and co-develop the global brand strategy, leading market access and pricing input to cross functional and cross-geography teams.
  • Work closely with key affiliates (US, Canada, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, UK, Japan & China) and regional execution leads to ensure optimal market access launch planning and execution aligned to global brand strategy and launch excellence activities.
  • Lead relevant payer, pricing & access and competitive research to understand value perception, landscape, evolving trends, value drivers and test value messages.
  • Define evidence needs to support price & access across priority markets for in-line products and upcoming HIV Treatment launches, develop integrated evidence generation strategies, payer materials and negotiation support needed for successful launch and ongoing execution
  • Build V&A stakeholder engagement priorities and plans across key markets, consistent engagement timelines and messaging, developing key interaction objectives and tools to support communication with external stakeholders and monitor stakeholder engagement activities
  • Partner closely with R&D, Medical Affairs, global and local commercial counterparts to ensure V&A input are incorporated into clinical development and commercial strategy

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 12+ years’ experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry in market access-related activities
  • MS/MA degree with 10+ years’ experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry in market access-related activities
  • PhD with 8+ years’ experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry in market access-related activities
  • HIV disease area experience and market knowledge an advantage
  • Strong understanding of global/USA payer environment, including coverage and reimbursement, pricing and contracting, formulary management, HTA and payment policy
  • Global experience preferred but not essential
  • Strong understanding of strategic pricing, contracting and negotiation. Experience in pricing strategy and policy development
  • Experience developing V&A strategies, including developing Market Access value messages, integrated evidence planning and creating tools to support implementation in key markets
  • Experience with market access launch planning and execution
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a Market Access Strategy working in a cross-functional team in a matrix environment
  • Proven ability to lead and influence across functions and levels as well as lead cross-functional teams; skilled facilitator, negotiator and counselor
