Role Summary
The Director, US Real World Evidence & Health Outcomes (US RWE/HO), Anti-infectives and Respiratory, leads development and execution of a quality, strategically aligned research agenda to demonstrate the value of US assets. Interfaces with field-based medical and payer teams to obtain physician, reimbursement and access insights, and represents US RWE/HO on matrix teams to support internal decision-making during product development and commercialization.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development, management and implementation of US RWE/HO strategies and tactics within assigned therapeutic areas to support medical and commercial objectives during development, launch, and life cycle management.
- Partner with cross-functional matrix teams to represent evidence generation needs for the US Market; provide health outcomes information to support decision-making throughout development, commercialization and lifecycle management.
- Represent US RWE/HO on appropriate initiatives; participate in global/regional matrix teams to ensure planning factors are assessed in development, pre-launch, launch and lifecycle strategies.
- Implement US RWE/HO strategies during lifecycle management to secure and maintain reimbursement, market access/formulary listing, promotion and pricing.
- Negotiate to maximize the value of US RWE/HO for GSK products; plan, track and adjust projects with external vendors to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery and documented changes.
- Assure quality of deliverables including study protocols, analysis plans, final reports, abstracts, posters and manuscripts, adhering to SOPs.
- Understand internal customer needs for US RWE/HO deliverables to support product value; align with Field Based Payer Medical Teams to obtain external insights and adjust plans for reimbursement and access.
- Complete required training and comply with SOPs; interface with cross-functional matrix teams (Field Based Payer Medical Teams, Internal Medical Affairs, Global RWE/HO, Epidemiology, Quantitative Sciences, Market Access, Brand Marketing).
- Manage vendors for US RWE/HO projects and represent the department at external professional forums.
Qualifications
- Required: PhD or Master’s in health economics and outcomes research or related discipline (e.g., economics, sociology, epidemiology), or PharmD.
- Required: 5+ years in Real-World Evidence/HEOR for PhD holders; 8+ years in HEOR for Master’s or PharmD holders; 3+ years US market experience in pharma.
- Required: Strong publication record in health economics/outcomes research; deep experience with US reimbursement systems and US healthcare market dynamics.
