Role Summary

Director, US Product and Pipeline Communications for BioNTech's late-stage oncology assets, based in Cambridge, US. This role leads US Product and Pipeline Communications and designs and implements impactful programs to drive awareness of productsโ€™ differentiation and potential to address patients' medical needs in support of company goals. You will serve as a trusted advisor to cross-functional teams and apply strong public relations expertise to execute successful oncology product launches in the US.

Responsibilities

  • Drive communications strategy for key oncology product candidates, including data and regulatory milestones, launches and sustained momentum.
  • Shape differentiated messaging and ensure alignment across channels and engagements.
  • Create and execute insights-driven disease awareness programs, branded campaigns, integrations and digital/social media initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Engagement & Advocacy, Clinical Development, Regulatory, Legal, IR and external partners.
  • Represent function on integrated teams and proactively contribute to decision making with business partners.
  • Facilitate executive engagement in support of products and pipeline, including traditional and social media, external speaking, internal communications.
  • Maintain relationships with journalists, pitch proactive stories, and manage press inquiries.
  • Proactively managing issues to protect company and product reputation; leverage data analytics to measure the impact of communication strategies.
  • Manage communications agency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in communications, Journalism, Marketing, Business, or Life Sciences with 10 plus years of experience in public relations or communications within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
  • Strong understanding of the US healthcare landscape, including regulatory policy and market access.
  • Strategic thinker with strong stakeholder management capabilities and ability to provide insights to support business decision making.
  • Proven expertise in issues management and leveraging analytics for decision-making.
  • Flexibility and agility to navigate dynamic, fast-paced environments; ability to adapt with evolving business needs.
  • Collaborative team player with an enterprise mindset who can work effectively in cross-functional teams and a matrixed organization.
  • Preferred: Public relations or communications experience in oncology.
