Role Summary
Director, U.S. Max Alternative Distribution Strategic Alliances leads U.S. market access strategy development and contracting for alternative distribution and direct contracting models across therapy areas, targeting more than $1 billion in total contracted value over the long-range plan. The role establishes the FutureFit function within USMAx, develops a comprehensive Alternative Distribution framework, and serves as the primary liaison for BU Heads, MAx leadership, and cross-functional partners for strategy development and go-to-market planning. It also leads contracting, negotiation strategy, and governance with current and prospective strategic alliance partners, in collaboration with Trade and Distribution Account teams.
Responsibilities
- Establishing and maintaining new ways of working in USMAx and across BUs including new Processes and Requirements for assessing and executing Alternative Distribution strategies and alliances
- Across the portfolio, leading the delivery of enhanced, consistent, actionable plans with that meet with strategic and life cycle brand needs
- Advocating for and receiving required resources from BU Heads and Executive Leadership Team to ensure AbbVie is able to effectively engage in the new alternative distribution business models
- Across the portfolio, influencing the embedding of actions required of cross-functional partners into operating processes and procedures to enable speed to market decision making and commercialization
- Developing talent under management including succession planning for key TA MAx Pipeline leadership roles.
- Collaborating across MAx and BU Leaders to establish and maintain effective ways of working in the new Commercial Model.
Qualifications
- Strong executive presence/command
- Ability to Influence the organization (cross-functionally) in support of Alternative Distribution Strategic Priorities
- Track record of building exceptional cross functional alignment and teams
- Strategic Mindset
- Demonstrated distribution, market access, operational, and contracting acumen
- Strong financial acumen
- 12+ years of USMAx / US Market experience preferred
