Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver respiratory disease biomarker strategies to support decision-making across clinical development (identify, prioritize, validate biomarkers; mechanistic/surrogate biomarkers; patient stratification; responder prediction; deploy and interpret study data).
- Provide translational leadership and execution of translational disease strategies to support discovery/development of differentiated therapeutics, including evaluation/diligence of business development opportunities.
- Evaluate and apply novel translational technologies (e.g., spatial transcriptomics); guide validation of human assays (cells, tissues, organs) using resources such as the Human Cell Atlas, disease multi-omics, and genetic resources.
- Lead cross-functional integration of translational research and biomarker strategies across the drug development lifecycle (including regulatory).
- Establish and maintain external collaborations (academia/CROs/partners) and develop expert/KOL networks.
- Provide matrix leadership: mentor teams; manage resources, budgets, timelines; represent Translational Science at portfolio governance.

Basic Qualifications
- Ph.D. in a scientific/life science discipline.
- Extensive translational science and biomarker development experience (pharma/biotech preferred).
- Respiratory translation/biomarker implementation experience.
- Clinical trial experience; authoring/oversight of clinical and regulatory documents.
- Working knowledge of regulatory requirements, standards, and compliance.
- Translational research technologies/methods; proven track record delivering biomarker-driven decisions.

Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of bioinformatics/computational integrated analysis.
- Strong management/prioritization and adaptability in fast-paced environments.

Benefits/Compensation (explicit)
- Hybrid UK/US role. Annual base salary (certain US locations): $189,750–$316,250; annual bonus; share-based long-term incentive; health/insurance, retirement, paid holidays/vacation, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave.
