Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver respiratory disease biomarker strategies for clinical decision-making across development phases, including biomarker identification/prioritization/validation, mechanistic/surrogate biomarkers, patient stratification and response prediction; deploy into clinical studies and interpret results.
- Provide translational leadership and execute translational research disease strategies to support discovery/development of differentiated therapeutics and evaluation/diligence of business development opportunities.
- Evaluate novel translational technologies (e.g., spatial transcriptomics); guide validation of human assays (cells, tissues, organs) using resources such as Human Cell Atlas, disease tissue multi-omics and genetic resources.
- Collaborate cross-functionally across translational disease teams, biomarker platforms, medicine development, data sciences, regulatory affairs, business development and commercial.
- Establish external partnerships with academia/CROs to access tools, reagents, biosamples and biomarker expertise; contribute to BD evaluation.
- Provide matrix leadership: mentor team, manage resources/budgets/timelines, and represent Translational Science at portfolio governance.

Basic Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in a Life Science discipline.
- Extensive translational science and biomarker development experience (preferably pharma/biotech).
- Respiratory translation/biomarker implementation experience.
- Clinical trial experience; authoring/oversight of clinical and regulatory documents.
- Regulatory knowledge for translational research/biomarker validation; translational research methods/technologies.
- Track record delivering biomarker strategy-driven program decision support.
- Experience leading external collaborations.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Bioinformatic/computational methods awareness.
- Strong management and prioritization skills; strong problem-solving/critical thinking.
