Summary:
Director, Trade Operations leads strategic and hands-on execution of trade and distribution activities across channels (3PL, wholesalers, specialty distributors, specialty pharmacies, and sample programs) to ensure continuous product availability for EXPAREL and ZILRETTA by managing inventory and coordinating with external partners.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute trade/distribution strategy across channels.
- Lead 3PL operations: SLAs, proactive inventory monitoring, sample inventory management, and cost optimization; prevent stock-outs.
- Manage wholesaler/specialty distributor relationships: contract execution, pricing notifications, roster management; resolve ordering/pricing/contract issues.
- Oversee chargeback reconciliation and credit/rebill processes; partner with Finance to resolve discrepancies and mitigate financial risk.
- Manage trade data flows/reporting (EDI 852/867): resolve discrepancies; build dashboards and KPIs.
- Ensure regulatory and contractual compliance (e.g., DSCSA, licensing); maintain audit readiness.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives for launches, pricing changes, and packaging/label updates.
- Drive continuous improvement/automation; develop SOPs for returns, chargebacks, pricing updates, and distribution workflows.
- Provide data transparency and regular reporting on distribution performance, inventory, and order status.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, or related field; MBA preferred.
- 8+ years pharmaceutical trade operations/commercial distribution.
- 3+ years people management experience.
- Deep knowledge of pharmaceutical distribution networks and 3PL operations.
- ERP and trade data platform experience; EDI data (844/867).
- Strong analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
