Role Summary

The Director, Thought Leader Liaison Lead, US Kidney leads thought leader engagement for povetacicept and inaxaplin within the US Kidney Business Unit to support launches in IgA nephropathy (IgAN) and APOL1-mediated kidney disease (AMKD). They will act as the lead for the development of cross-functional Thought Leader engagement plans, regional insights meetings, regional conferences and will bring back field insights that will inform the development and evolution of the marketing strategy. This role reports to the Head of Market Development, US Kidney Business Unit and will lead a team of customer facing Thought Leader Liaisons. The candidate should have a strong track record in US commercial roles and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovation-focused environment.

Responsibilities

  • Supports commercial Key Thought Leaders (KTL) influence mapping initiatives by developing and maintaining profiles
  • Develops and maintains KTL Engagement Plans for thought leaders
  • Plans and executes National and Regional Congress engagement plans with a focus on meaningful engagements with senior leaders and in support of marketing initiatives
  • Drives the development and execution of all aspects of regional conferences
  • Monitors KTL insights about current and future treatment patterns that may impact the commercial strategy and provide feedback for consideration
  • Supports the execution of commercial Kidney advisory boards through identification and engagement of key advisors
  • Drives the development and execution of regional insights meetings
  • Aligns with field partners such as Medical Science Liaisons on complementary initiatives with shared customers
  • Works with marketing and contracted speakers and ambassadors to gain and synthesize feedback in support of the evolution of promotional programming content, case studies for potential publications, and other commercial projects
  • Works with cross-functional teams to provide key customer insights and input on strategy, tactics, and messaging, and program execution
  • Leads a team of Thought Leader Liaisons
  • Role models and instills a culture of compliance focused on ethics and integrity in all we do

Qualifications

  • Typically requires 10 years of experience in healthcare / biopharmaceuticals, or an equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Previous experience leading a Thought Leader Liaison team
  • Rare disease / specialty product launch experience
  • Experience working in highly competitive markets
  • Kidney experience preferred but not required

Skills

  • Experience in one or more of the following: field sales, product marketing, or thought leader engagement
  • Experience leading a remote team with demonstrated ability to keep the team engaged and motivated
  • Working knowledge of Thought Leader engagement practices
  • Clinical, technical, and scientific knowledge and aptitude in complex disease states
  • Demonstrated ability to execute against strategic and tactical plans under short timelines
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and organizational abilities
  • Self-driven with strong organizing and planning skills
  • Highly collaborative with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
