Position Summary:
Director, TDOQ Sourcing and Procurement (San Diego, CA or Princeton, NJ)
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop global sourcing strategies/plans for TDOQ vendors across commercial supply chain, packaging/logistics, drug substance, drug formulation, quality assurance, and analytical development.
- Partner with TDOQ business stakeholders (including senior executives) to identify sourcing needs and align strategies with business goals.
- Assess, benchmark, and negotiate key vendor contracts; conduct gap analysis.
- Collaborate with Finance FP&A on vendor cost budgeting, forecasting, and savings validation.
- Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies (e.g., AI in procurement) to improve sourcing automation.
- Help establish vendor governance (optimization, risk assessment, and operational performance evaluation).
Education/Experience/Skills:
- 12+ years of sourcing experience in pharma/biotech, including commercial supply chain, drug formulation, APIs/excipients, and packaging.
- Proven leadership managing large manufacturing/raw material vendor spend portfolios.
- Strong negotiation and drug substance vendor benchmarking experience.
- Deep knowledge of global supply chain vendor risks and mitigation planning.
- Proficient with S2P (Coupa), CLM (Agiloft), and upcoming AI sourcing tools.
- Familiarity with sourcing savings methodology and tools such as Smartsheet.
- BS/BA or equivalent.
