The Position
Develops and executes the Supply Chain business strategy, planning and reporting for the distribution to direct downstream channel customers of NN Diabetes, Obesity and Growth Hormone products within the US as well as Puerto Rico. Manages multi-million-dollar financial agreement negotiations with the “Big 3” wholesalers and is accountable for compliant product distribution and related systems.
Essential Functions
- Distribution Strategy:
- Evaluate downstream channel market conditions to identify opportunities for the Supply Chain strategy.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Market Access and Trade on strategy and new product distribution opportunities (trade and no charge business).
- Represent Novo Nordisk in industry associations (e.g., HDA, NACDS, advisory boards).
- Account Management:
- Develop and deliver business presentations to drive strategic initiatives and opportunities.
- Establish and maintain senior-level relationships at the Big 3 wholesalers.
- Negotiate favorable multi-million-dollar Distribution Service Agreements (including National Replenishment Center agreements).
- Manage DSA creation, amendments, and ongoing compliance.
- Lead reporting and analytics of wholesaler data (internal and external use).
Development of People (Supervisory)
- Ensure direct reports have individual development plans (IDPs) with annual goals and measurements; run interim reviews.
- Ensure IDP learning and aspiration plans are in place for reporting personnel.
- Manage application and communication of Novo Nordisk policies and procedures.
Physical Requirements
- 0–10% overnight travel.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- 8+ years of progressively responsible business-related experience (pharmaceutical experience preferred).
- Prior management/leadership experience required.
- Demonstrated strategic business planning and execution experience.
- Experience engaging and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
