Role Summary

Director, Strategic Sourcing (Commercial) – Leads development and execution of marketing category strategies to enable commercialization across disease areas and regions. Oversees category lifecycle, multi-year sourcing strategies, and management of strategic supplier relationships and performance. Partners with Business Units and Finance to set category objectives and implement them. Based in Boston, MA with hybrid schedule and global travel.

Responsibilities

  • Strong business partnering to develop trusted relationships with stakeholders, understand objectives, share supplier/market insights, collaborate on multi-year plans, and drive outcomes.
  • Develop, implement, monitor, and refresh category strategies in partnership with business stakeholders for related sub-categories.
  • Own Supplier Performance/Relationship Management process, including performance monitoring, meeting preparation, dashboards, action tracking, and Executive Business Reviews.
  • Define KPIs and performance metrics with the business and integrate them into contracts and dashboards to ensure supplier performance improvements.
  • Identify risks in the Sourcing process and coordinate with Risk SMEs to assess and mitigate.
  • Lead complex negotiations on price and terms with internal stakeholders; create negotiation plans aligned with all parties.
  • Mentor Sourcing colleagues, temporary staff, and/or interns as directed.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree and MBA
  • Required: 10+ years of strategic sourcing experience including Marketing Procurement
  • Required: Understanding of regulated environments
  • Preferred: AI-ready mindset and interest in AI opportunities in Services
  • Required: Can-do mindset, ability to thrive in ambiguity, and capability to build bridges with innovative solutions
  • Required: Strong analytical, project management, and communication/presentation skills
  • Required: Excellent communication and organizational skills; comfortable presenting to senior leadership
