Key Responsibilities
- Business partnering: build trusted stakeholder relationships; collaborate on multi-year plans; drive business outcomes.
- Team leadership: guide/mentor the small molecule sourcing team to deliver objectives.
- Product support: identify suppliers of raw materials, API, drug product, finished goods, and CDMO services.
- Global category management: develop/manage category and sourcing strategies; manage strategic suppliers and tactical RFx.
- Sourcing strategy development: co-develop sourcing strategies with business units; select CDMOs; negotiate contracts; influence network strategy; manage suppliers.
- Supplier management: ensure timely delivery of high-quality materials/services; pursue risk mitigation, resilience, cost savings, process improvement, and innovation; partner on supplier governance.
- Risk mitigation: assess/mitigate supply-chain risks; create contingency plans.
- Market analysis: track trends, capabilities, and emerging technologies; conduct assessments.
- Continuous improvement: streamline sourcing processes using analytics and performance metrics.
- Financial management: support budgeting; guide long-range planning; evaluate BOM and total cost of goods.
Knowledge & Skills (Required/Preferred)
- Influence senior leaders; deep category management and strategic sourcing (strategy/RFx/negotiation/contracts/supplier performance).
- Expertise negotiating and managing complex suppliers/CDMOs (virtual plant governance).
- Strong analytics (Power BI/Tableau) and project management; cross-functional collaboration.
- Contract law knowledge; strong written/verbal communication; Microsoft Office/ERP and e-sourcing tools.
Qualifications
- 10+ years in API/drug product/CDMO sourcing (pharma).
- Bachelorβs in chemistry/biochemistry/chemical engineering (preferred).
- Track record negotiating contracts, managing suppliers, and driving cost savings.
- Working knowledge of AI-based sourcing/contracting desired; small-molecule manufacturing knowledge desired.
- GMP/ISO/regulatory familiarity.
- Travel as needed.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay range: $180,000β$270,000; eligible for annual bonus and annual equity.
