Director, Stem Cell Research

Role: Director-level leader in cell therapy research within Vertex's T1D program, overseeing stem cell-derived islet biology pipeline, biomarker discovery, and assay development. Responsibilities: lead and coordinate a multidisciplinary team, align research efforts with program goals, drive biological discovery, and manage project timelines and budgets. Qualifications: Ph.D. in molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, or related fields with 9+ years (Ph.D.) or equivalent experience; deep expertise in cell therapy, target validation, biomarker assays, and biomanufacturing. High-Value: focus on cell therapy, stem cell-derived islets, type 1 diabetes, preclinical to clinical transition, and cross-functional collaboration in research-to-development activities. WorkSetup: on-site in Boston-Leiden, five days/week.
