Director-level lead for cancer genetics and genomics product development at the Regeneron Genetics Center.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver cancer genetics testing opportunities, including germline testing partnerships; serve as senior leader accountable for clinical cancer test development.
- Define and own end-to-end strategy for germline genetic cancer risk product development; translate vision into an operational roadmap with measurable milestones.
- Develop and execute somatic genetics strategy for the oncology portfolio; identify opportunities for somatic profiling studies across tumor types using existing cancer genomics databases.
- Lead large-scale somatic cancer sequencing analyses (whole-exome/whole-genome sequencing, RNA-seq, and integrative multi-OMICS) to identify driver mutations, therapeutic vulnerabilities, and resistance mechanisms.
- Design and contribute to cancer molecular profiling and clinical correlation analyses integrating germline and somatic profiles with transcriptomic, epigenetic, and proteomic data to support target discovery, indication selection, and patient stratification.
- Oversee all phases of product development for cancer risk genomics programs to ensure rigor, cross-functional alignment, and on-time delivery.
- Develop and execute commercialization strategy for RGC cancer products, including market opportunities, go-to-market pathways, and partnerships.
- Collaborate with and lead a multidisciplinary team (human genetics scientists, bioinformaticians, statistical geneticists) to design, execute, and interpret genetics studies.
Qualifications / Required:
- MD or MD/PhD with strong background in quantitative biology applied to cancer genetics and genomics.
- Proven ability to design and lead large-scale human cancer genomic programs delivering medically- and commercially-relevant outcomes.
- Minimum 12 years of research experience in cancer genetics, genomics, or oncology product development.
Skills / Preferred:
- Ability to independently own and drive strategic programs from conception through commercialization.
- Hands-on leadership in large-scale somatic cancer sequencing and integrative genomic analyses.
- Deep expertise in tumor sequencing analysis (variant calling, mutational signatures, clonal evolution, copy number alterations, structural variants).
- Experience developing or contributing to germline diagnostic tests for cancer predisposition/risk/clinical decision-making.
- Quantitative problem solving, statistical analyses, and translating somatic/germline findings into clinical applications.
