In This Role, a Typical Day Might Include
- Develop and execute a comprehensive state government affairs strategy aligned with Regeneron’s policy and business priorities, focusing on patient access, affordability, and innovation.
- Monitor, analyze, and influence state legislation, regulation, and policy trends impacting biopharmaceutical development, reimbursement, and access (e.g., drug pricing reforms, PBM regulation, prior authorization, step therapy, and Medicaid policies).
- Lead engagement with state policymakers, including legislators, governors’ offices, Medicaid agencies, and regulatory bodies, to proactively shape policy outcomes.
- Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders (state trade associations, patient advocacy organizations, provider groups, and industry coalitions).
- Represent the company in state-based coalitions and industry associations to shape collective advocacy strategies.

- Partner with federal policy, reimbursement, legal, compliance, and commercial teams to align and coordinate policy strategies.
- Provide strategic guidance to internal leadership on state policy risks and opportunities.
- Support development of advocacy materials (policy briefs, comment letters, testimony, stakeholder communications).
- Coordinate state-level stakeholder engagement (legislative briefings, roundtables, site visits).
- Serve as a trusted internal advisor with strategic, politically astute perspectives.
To Be Considered For This Role, You Must Have
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (e.g., MPP, MPH, MBA) preferred.
- 12+ years of relevant experience in state government affairs, public policy, or healthcare policy (biopharmaceutical/healthcare preferred).
- Strong understanding of state healthcare policy, including Medicaid, commercial insurance markets, drug pricing, and utilization management tools.
