Role: Senior research scientist specializing in synthetic macrocycles within Lilly's Early Molecule Design team, focusing on hit-finding and hit-to-lead chemistry for challenging targets across therapeutic areas such as Cardiometabolic, Immunology, Neuroscience, and Oncology. Responsibilities: design and synthesize macrocyclic small molecules and peptides; apply SAR and ADME/DMPK principles to optimize drug-like properties and oral bioavailability; collaborate cross-functionally with Biology, DMPK, and Computational Chemistry; contribute to program strategy and communicate scientific findings; mentor junior scientists. Requirements: Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Peptide Chemistry, or related field; 8+ years industry experience in drug discovery; expertise in macrocycle design, synthesis, and ADME/DMPK analysis; track record of collaborative research and scientific publications. Preferred: hands-on macrocycle hit-finding experience, multi-modal therapeutic background, understanding of clinical translation and IND-enabling studies.
