Director/Sr. Director/Exec. Director, Molecular Pharmacology (AMD)

Role: Lead scientific and team leadership in Molecular Pharmacology within Lilly's Small Molecule Design group, focusing on optimizing drug-like molecules for therapeutic development. Responsibilities include establishing robust screening assays, guiding mechanistic molecule characterization, and making strategic scientific decisions to drive SAR and compound optimization. The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration with Medicinal Chemistry, Computational Chemistry, ADME, and integration of AI and automation technologies, alongside mentoring and developing scientists to foster a high-performing, innovative team environment. Requirements: PhD in Biochemistry, Biology, Pharmacology, or related fields with 15+ years (PhD) or 20+ years (BS/MS) drug discovery experience; proven leadership in pharma or biotech research; extensive pharmacology data-driven decision-making background; familiarity with multiple modalities or therapeutic areas is a plus. Preferred skills include experience with AI/ML tools, laboratory automation, and broad modality expertise.
