Primary Position Responsibilities
- Product strategy (40%): Drive vision/roadmap for computational drug design & optimization platforms; translate research objectives into platform direction; standardize/accelerate multi-objective optimization (MOO) workflows; integrate agentic AI (pipeline composition, automated recommendations, conversational interfaces); define success/adoption/scientific-impact metrics; identify adjacencies for shared infrastructure and agentic capabilities.
- Technical translation & engineering partnership (35%): Translate scientific requirements into product specs; understand NGS data structures/quality metrics/pipeline architectures; protein structure prediction (AlphaFold/ESMFold) and molecular dynamics; high-throughput screening/dose-response modeling; vector database architectures; workflow orchestration across cloud/GPU/internal; guide AI/ML integration (protein engineering DL, antibody generative models, active learning, MOO); assess feasibility/complexity; ensure delivery and unblock teams.
- Cross-functional collaboration (25%): Partner with scientists/engineers/lab automation across Indianapolis and San Diego; champion user experience with user-centered design; run agile development (sprint planning/backlog/stakeholder alignment); communicate progress/risks; mentor and share best practices.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (bioinformatics, computational biology, CS, biomedical engineering, or biochemistry/molecular biology) with computational coursework.
- 10+ years progressive software product management (vision→launch→adoption).
- 5+ years in life sciences/lab/drug discovery/biopharma.

Preferred Skills/Experience
- Senior success in regulated, highly complex environments.
- Cross-functional influence without authority.
- MS/PhD in computational biology/bioinformatics (or related); pharma R&D research tools/platform experience.
- Deep AI/ML + agentic/generative AI understanding; familiarity with computational drug design/optimization (esp. biologics MOO).
- Regulated product management (FDA/GxP), Agile/Scrum, Jira; strong software/cloud/API technical background.
- Travel 30–40% between Indianapolis and San Diego.

Compensation/Benefits (if eligible)
- Anticipated base salary: $162,000–$268,400; possible company bonus.
