Role: Director, Signal Detection Scientist leading proactive safety signal detection and evaluation for complex pharmaceutical products within Johnson & Johnson's Innovative Medicine division. Responsibilities: develop and execute surveillance strategies, utilize novel computational tools for signal detection across multiple data sources (e.g., regulatory databases, claims, electronic health records), perform signal validation, and communicate findings to safety teams and stakeholders. Conduct post-marketing aggregate safety data reviews, contribute to safety assessments, and support the development of methodologies for safety surveillance. Requirements: advanced healthcare degree (RN, PharmD) with 9+ years in pharmacovigilance or drug safety, including at least 3 years dedicated to signal detection; clinical/patient-care experience; deep understanding of safety data analysis, global regulatory guidance, and signal detection systems. Preferred: experience with SAS JMP or similar platforms, epidemiological principles, machine learning, and public health tools. The role involves leadership in cross-functional forums, mentoring, and may include indirect people management. Travel up to 10% domestically and internationally.
