Role Summary

Fate Therapeutics is seeking an experienced investor relations professional to support the development and implementation of the Companyโ€™s Investor Relations objectives. Responsibilities include drafting presentations, press releases, earnings scripts, and managing content on the Companyโ€™s website. The Senior Director / Director, Investor Relations will also assist in scheduling meetings with investors, analysts, and bankers. This full-time position, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and is located at our corporate headquarters in San Diego, CA.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with relevant internal stakeholders to develop and manage the writing, editing and production of all IR-related materials including Investor Presentations, Corporate and Financial Press Releases, Annual Reports, and SEC-related filings.
  • Manages all Corporate IR/disclosure conference calls including initial development of conference call scripts, slides, and Q&As.
  • Plans and manages content and logistics for investor events, conferences, and non-bank road shows.
  • Manages IR section of the corporate website and collaborates on the other relevant sections.
  • Develops an IR calendar (meetings, NDRs, conferences, presentations) that prioritizes and efficiently uses company resources to achieve clear, specific IR objectives.
  • Supports the creation of compelling messages and content for IR presentations in collaboration with relevant team members.
  • Follows and understands market and industry trends, including the competitive landscape.
  • Provides analytics and tracking - including ownership analysis, relative stock price movements, research analysts' valuations and financial models, and market intelligence - to help facilitate engagement with the investment community.
  • Monitors investor interactions with emphasis on the surveillance and activity of key, targeted investors.
  • Able to field inbound investor inquiries and support public disclosures and direct interactions with the investment community.
  • Works with legal, finance, and accounting on the planning, writing, and design of the Proxy.
  • Work with the finance team on capital offerings.

Qualifications

  • BA or BS degree required, advanced scientific degree a plus.
  • At least 10 years of progressively responsible work experience, preferably within Equity Research, Investment Banking, or Investor Relations within a life science company.
  • Strong scientific acumen background in immunotherapy including the ability to understand and explain sophisticated scientific concepts to a diverse audience.
  • Exceptionally strong writing and oral communication skills.
  • Proven ability to create and execute a targeting strategy for prospective investors.
  • A strong track record in creating effective presentations and related written and digital materials.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and partner with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Consistently shows good business judgment and professional courage.
  • Ability to set priorities - quickly identifies and prioritizes critical tasks/issues and approaches challenges in a solution-oriented and enabling way.
  • Detail oriented and able to deliver quality results on time.

Additional Requirements

  • Subject to extended periods of sitting and standing, vision to monitor, and moderate noise levels.
  • This role requires travel up to 30% of the time.
