Responsibilities:
- Develop novel AAV therapies by driving data-based decisions for internal and external programs
- Develop and implement the organization’s strategic vision for AAV, aligning with business goals
- Collaborate with executives and leaders to address key business challenges using experience in gene therapy
- Drive the creation and implementation of screening novel AAV technologies, including capsid screens, cargo R&D, and related technologies
- Ensure best practices in model development, validation, and deployment
- Stay updated on emerging trends and suggest innovative solutions
- Integrate genetic medicine delivery strategy into broader gene therapy strategy
- Present analytical insights and recommendations to senior executives clearly and concisely
- Lead and/or grow a team to develop AAV gene therapy assets

Basic Requirements:
- PhD with 10+ years of industry experience

Additional Skills/Preferences:
- Mastery of ophthalmology gene therapy
- Proven track record of successfully leading discovery and translational gene therapy programs and platforms
- Strong experience with AAV, viral vectors, high-throughput screening, and translational R&D; deep understanding of AAV biology
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical thinking
- Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills
- Ability to translate complex biology into actionable business strategies
- Strong project management skills; experience leading cross-functional teams and driving initiatives from concept to execution
