About The Role:
Director, Scientific Communications will, as a core member of the Global Medical Strategy team, lead the development and implementation of global Medical Communications Strategy globally and across regions.
Core Responsibilities:
- Co-lead the development and maintenance of scientific platforms and the strategic execution of aligned scientific communications deliverables to ensure global, accurate communication about Insmed disease areas of interest and Insmed-generated data.
- Develop partnerships with internal teams (Medical Affairs, HEOR, Clinical Development, Advocacy, Commercial, Market Access) and external medical experts.
- Plan and execute scientific communications deliverables across assigned therapeutic area(s), including field medical tools/resources and sponsored medical education via an omni-channel approach.
What Youโll Do:
- Co-lead development/maintenance of Scientific Platforms, Scientific Narrative Lexicon, and Insmed Medical Communications plan (including digital plan for respiratory therapeutic area/product).
- Lead creation and execution of global medical communication strategy and education plan (congress strategy, symposia, field tools/resources, medical backgrounders, scientific programs; identify/prioritize regional/local education needs).
- Review scientific materials and represent content during medical/legal/regulatory review.
- Lead training of Medical Affairs teams on new materials and educational activities.
- Ensure high-quality, fair-balanced, scientifically/clinically accurate deliverables per timelines, compliance policies, and budgets; ensure alignment with business strategy/medical affairs strategy/clinical programs.
- Manage external vendors/agencies supporting content planning and execution.
Qualifications:
- Masterโs degree in a scientific discipline; 8+ yearsโ relevant pharma/biotech experience, primarily in Medical Affairs.
Required Skills/Experience:
- 5+ years designing/implementing Medical Communication Strategies (gap analyses oversight, congress strategies, scientific content development, digital asset generation, platform development/maintenance).
- Expert knowledge of PhRMA guidelines and CME Open Payments reporting.
- Ability to apply scientific/clinical data to strategy with pull-through to external deliverables.
- Proven ability to interpret/organize complex scientific data (pre-clinical/clinical trial data; statistical outputs).
- Leadership experience designing strategy aligned with corporate strategy.
- Experience with external experts/authors; managing competing priorities and tight deadlines.
- Ability to manage external vendors and provide clear direction.
- Excellent written/verbal communication; highly organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Nice to Have:
- PhD/PharmD/MD preferred.
- Respiratory therapeutic area experience preferred; prior pre-launch/launch experience preferred.
Where Youโll Work/Travel:
- Fully remote; occasional domestic travel (~15%).
