Role Summary
Director, Real-World Evidence and Epidemiology, Bacterial and Vector Borne Disease Vaccines team. Lead the growth of Pfizer's Epidemiology team within Vaccines RWE/epidemiology, focusing on pneumococcal conjugate vaccines (PCVs). Drive global RWE studies to inform vaccine recommendations and support development and licensure of next-generation PCVs, while collaborating across cross-functional teams to disseminate results and advance patient care.
Responsibilities
- Conduct epidemiology studies, including field data collection and secondary analyses of real-world data.
- Author and review study protocols, reports, presentations, and peer-reviewed manuscripts.
- Provide input to study design for high-priority epidemiologic studies related to pneumococcal vaccine issues.
- Develop innovative approaches to global bacterial infectious disease and vaccine questions.
- Identify and maintain external partnerships for high-priority global studies.
- Collaborate with internal and external experts in statistics and data analysis to interpret data from burden of disease and vaccine studies.
- Be accountable for collecting epidemiologic data necessary for developing vaccine product labels.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree (PhD in Epidemiology or related field with 5+ years of relevant experience; MD with 4+ years; MPH or Masterβs with 7+ years).
- Subject matter expertise in vaccinology and infectious disease epidemiology.
- Strong epidemiological and statistical methods for observational/non-interventional studies.
- 5+ years of experience in vaccine-related activities including research, clinical development, epidemiological studies, and infectious disease surveillance.
- Prior experience conducting vaccine effectiveness and impact studies (strongly preferred).
- Experience in large cross-functional matrices and collaboration with multiple partners.
- Strong technical, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience directing analyses of real-world data from large healthcare databases (ICD-10/claims data).
- Excellent verbal and written communication, including lead authorship in at least 5 peer-reviewed publications.
- Strong interpersonal skills and proven track record of delivering high-quality results on time.
- Ability to review, evaluate, interpret, and present complex data.
- Significant cross-functional leadership experience and ability to manage projects to completion.
- Proven ability to lead a vaccine epidemiology project from conception to reporting and interpretation.
- Demonstrated diverse leadership experiences, ability to influence, coach others, and drive business impact.
